Seldén CXe Gennaker Through-Deck Electric

Looking for the ultimate system for effortless operation of your gennaker furler and want to install it through deck (TD)? This is also possible with Seldén. In this case you need the CXe system: the drive unit and the special adapter. The furled gennaker is permanently attached to a special AT-cable with the tack swivel adapter at the bottom and the halyard swivel at the top.

The tack swivel adapter is mounted on the CXe drive unit and the halyard swivel is hoisted with a spinnaker/gennaker halyard. It is a 2-speed electrically driven gennaker furler that rolls up your sail in 10 seconds with the push of a button. Handling a gennaker/spinnaker has never been easier.

How does it work?

To furl the sail, stay at an apparent wind angle of 90-120°. With light pressure on the sail, press the IN button to start top-down furling. While holding this, simultaneously press the OUT button to increase speed. Your asymmetric spinnaker will be fully furled within seconds.

Technical specifications

The Through-Deck installation of CXe requires no modification to the deck or bowsprit. Simply attach it to a pad-eye and connect the cable in the anchor locker. Like other Seldén electric functions, CXe runs on SEL-Bus and a Power Supply Unit (PSU) that converts 12V or 24V to 42V.

SEL-Bus is a can-bus system with software that combines intelligence and power on board to detect and adjust loads for maximum efficiency and safety. The 42V version enables smaller power cables (6 mm²) and a compact brushless motor.
