Anti-torsion line

The anti-torsion line is an essential component of any furling system. This line prevents torsion when the sail is furled or unfurled.

Our anti-torsion line is available in various diameters to match your furling system. Choose the desired diameter and length in centimetres for a perfect fit. Each line is custom made including stainless steel thimbles top and bottom which can be attached to the system.

This component goes by several names depending on the supplier and application: anti-torsion line, anti-torsion cable, anti-torsion rope, torsion cable, or luff rope. On Code 0 and gennaker furlers it is sometimes also called a torsion hose. Whatever term your system's manual uses, it refers to the same core component: a low-stretch, torque-transmitting luff cable that lets the sail rotate evenly around the forestay when furling or unfurling.

Tip: Unsure between two diameters? Going 1mm smaller is usually fine. For example, a system that specifies Ø12mm works well with a Ø11mm anti-torsion line.
