Seldén S20 Double Block fixed ball bearing tie-on

The Seldén S20 double block with tie-on attachment is an ultra-compact and lightweight block from the Seldén S-series, specifically designed for trim lines and light applications on smaller boats and racing dinghies. This double block features two acetal sheaves running on stainless steel ball bearings and is simply attached with a line or Dyneema loop. The S20 series is the lightest block series from Seldén and offers the best quality at a minimum weight, which is essential in competitive sailing where every gram counts.

Weighing just 21 grams, the S20 double block is one of the lightest double blocks on the market. Despite this extremely low weight, the block offers a safe working load of 100 kg and a breaking load of 200 kg, which is more than sufficient for trim lines, cunninghams, vangs and other light control systems. The acetal sheaves combined with stainless steel ball bearings ensure smooth and reliable operation, even when the block is exposed to salt water and UV radiation.

The tie-on attachment makes the S20 double block exceptionally versatile in use. By attaching the block with a Dyneema loop or piece of line, you save the weight of a shackle or D-shackle and can mount the block at virtually any position on board. This makes it ideal for trim applications on racing dinghies, catamarans and smaller cabin yachts. The double block provides additional purchase compared to a single block, allowing you to exert more force on the line with less effort.
